Marlin Martinez

Marnie really impressed me this past month she was the acting Supervisor due to her Supervisor being on leave for 3 weeks. Marnie stepped up and made sure her team had what they needed. She also had to coach where appropriate to ensure her team was on point. She definitely took charge and took this as a growth opportunity.

March

Christopher McShane

Chris joined Sentinel at the close of October 2022 and IMMEDIATELY jumped into his role and started getting immersed in the operation. He has leveraged his history working for the State of CT to build and retain advocates within the agency. He has proactively filled staffing gaps himself to both gain experience and problem solve. He has also improved the culture of the office and added more staff to his fleet of employees providing service to the State. He is available to internal and external customers at all times of the day and understands the critical nature of the service we provide.

October

Adam Di Lisio

Adam, Has continuously been proactive with increasing MC efficiencies. He has put together an action Item list to discuss issues such as the weekly site totals report and daily summary report and what he has done to resolve the issue and or what he has completed to ensure our processes are up to date. If it’s an item he is unable to resolve himself he reaches out to his supervisor or correct party to assist. He continues to strive to communicate with his team as well as management/RAMs if the MC has an issue notifying on alerts such as MSDOC phone issues or incorrect numbers / back ups in the system. Adam’s continued perseverance to extend his knowledge is reflective as the only MC employee that is not a supervisor who has passed TCP Level 3.

November

Carlton Herring

Carlton Continues to grow and learn new skills.  Since making him my Lead Tech at Leon County issues have decreased to almost no issues being reported by management at Leon County pretrial.  The Manager went from having multiple calls a day with Leon Management on issues with equipment and monitoring of clients to Leon Management giving praises on Carltons Performance on our weekly calls with no issues to report.  He is a true team player and always steps in to help other sentinel Staff. Most recently He took a day away from his vacation to cover for another employee who had a birthday and wanted to take a day off. He did this while also not feeling well himself but wanted to make sure other staff had a good day for their birthday.  Carlton is always willing to learn new skills and ask for my advice frequently so he can continue to grow his skill set.  Carlton is an asset to Sentinel and deserves recognition.

December

Magda Soler

Magda has been with Sentinel for a little over four years.  She started as a per diem employee and after the previous Program Manager recognized her ability, hired her full time.  Since being hired as a full-time Dispatcher she was promoted to Lead Dispatcher. When Program Manager joined Sentinel on Halloween of 2023, it did not take long to see that Magda’s personality was huge and that is saying a lot because she is only about 5’5”.   As time went on, the manager saw her striving to be a perfectionist with her work and how she treated the customers.  With her customers she is professional and knowledgeable.  The manager has spoken to Officers throughout the state, and they commend our Dispatch and will bring up Magda’s name.
A Dispatcher’s job can be stressful with customers, but she has always kept her interactions with them professional which in return installs confidence with Sentinel.  Most recently I observed a conversation with an Officer, how can I say in a nice way was irate for whatever reason.  The Officer had a tough time grasping the technology behind the devices.  Magda could have been frustrated but yet she maintained her composure and finally got off the phone after a half hour in a way that the Officer felt good about the situation. Magda loves the Holidays, especially Halloween.  But no matter what the holiday it is, she is good to get the office decorated and festive, which is greatly appreciated by the team. The main reason for nominating Magda for this recognition is her dedication and the attitude of stepping up when needed.  Our Dispatch Team is busy and if someone calls out or out on vacation, she is always volunteering to keep the operation running.  There are numerous times she will clock out for the day and our closer is out, she will log on remotely to close out the day.  On a recent day, we were going to be short staffed, and she talked to me about working on her day off in order to assist the morning person until another Dispatcher came in.  This is one of many examples of Magda thinking of the Office and not herself.
In summary this nomination for Magda who is a big personality, brings levity to the office when needed, loves the idea of celebrating events in the office (holidays, birthdays, anniversaries), she is a working mother that is involved with her kids’ school, a cancer survivor, takes pride in the product she produces and lastly an employee you have respect and happy to work with.
